Gnosis is a word of Latin origin that means “knowledge” (mystical knowledge and understanding). This refers to universal knowledge which includes both physical and metaphysical knowledge.
In Gnosis we find art, science, philosophy and transcendental mysticism, because these are the four basic foundations of all great cultures. We must say that from gnosis came the culture of the most important civilizations of our world, such as: Mayan, Aztec, Incan, Egyptian, Greek, Mesopotamian, Chaldaean, etc., so that we will find Gnosis in all Schools, Religions, Orders, Denominations and Spiritual Societies.
We also find Gnosis in the secret science of the Dancing Dervishes and Sufis, in the secret doctrine of Buddhism and Taoism, in the sacred magic of the Nordics, in the wisdom of Buddha, Confucius, Lao-tse, Pythagoras, Hermes, Mahomet, Jesus Christ, Zoroaster, etc.
The Gnostic teachings are full of spiritual exercises, that can develop the soul powers within. You can understand and practice the TRUE ALCHEMY, based on the sexual energy.
With this knowledge you can really find the answers to all the true questions about one's inner life.

What you see as "The Bible" today in either the Catholic Vulgate or KJV Bible comes from vast, copious christian writings of the early Roman Empire, and the passages contained within were decided on by those whom Emperor Constantine selected at the Council of Nicea. This process was purely political in motivation.
Most of the writings which were rejected were destroyed. They are lost to history forever.
Likewise, what you see in the Gnostic Gospels are those which the Gnostics selected to verify their views. The difference is the Gnostics were genuine in their pursuit of spiritual knowlege and wisdom (gnosis) and generally were not politically motivated.
There also the Coptic Texts of Egypt, some of which oddly enough were preserved by early Moslems who viewed Jesus as one of the greatest prophets.
The Knowledge itself is full of exemples of that.

But you my friend....didnt even had the time to read SOMETHING about gnosis.
You have a preconcept about it, and you dont even realize it.
Gnosis and the teachings of christ are the same. By the way, Christ himself was a gnostic.
