This, will change you:

Gnosis is a word of Latin origin that means “knowledge” (mystical knowledge and understanding). This refers to universal knowledge which includes both physical and metaphysical knowledge.

In Gnosis we find art, science, philosophy and transcendental mysticism, because these are the four basic foundations of all great cultures. We must say that from gnosis came the culture of the most important civilizations of our world, such as: Mayan, Aztec, Incan, Egyptian, Greek, Mesopotamian, Chaldaean, etc., so that we will find Gnosis in all Schools, Religions, Orders, Denominations and Spiritual Societies.

We also find Gnosis in the secret science of the Dancing Dervishes and Sufis, in the secret doctrine of Buddhism and Taoism, in the sacred magic of the Nordics, in the wisdom of Buddha, Confucius, Lao-tse, Pythagoras, Hermes, Mahomet, Jesus Christ, Zoroaster, etc.

The Gnostic teachings are full of spiritual exercises, that can develop the soul powers within. You can understand and practice the TRUE ALCHEMY, based on the sexual energy.

With this knowledge you can really find the answers to all the true questions about one's inner life.

I did, but in a chaotic manner, not reading the lessons one by one. I have been "winging" it since december 11 basically. It has already had some amazing effects on my life. Though now i realize that some kind of direction and aid would be great. I am not the first one to learn these lessons, and trying to get some structure for added speed would be great. I am now actually going to start the course.

Interesting journal you have here. I don't necessarily follow Samael's vision of Gnosticism, but it is interesting nonetheless.

What you see as "The Bible" today in either the Catholic Vulgate or KJV Bible comes from vast, copious christian writings of the early Roman Empire, and the passages contained within were decided on by those whom Emperor Constantine selected at the Council of Nicea. This process was purely political in motivation.

Most of the writings which were rejected were destroyed. They are lost to history forever.

Likewise, what you see in the Gnostic Gospels are those which the Gnostics selected to verify their views. The difference is the Gnostics were genuine in their pursuit of spiritual knowlege and wisdom (gnosis) and generally were not politically motivated.

There also the Coptic Texts of Egypt, some of which oddly enough were preserved by early Moslems who viewed Jesus as one of the greatest prophets.

Gnostic teachings really aren't the answer. Christ is.

Well, of course it is!
But you my friend....didnt even had the time to read SOMETHING about gnosis.
You have a preconcept about it, and you dont even realize it.
Gnosis and the teachings of christ are the same. By the way, Christ himself was a gnostic.
Thanks for stopping by!!

ok...im not sure what that means...But if you deny the absolute authority of the Bible, you might as well throw it away. Because by saying you deny the authority of the Bible...basicly means it has no more authority in your life. Cause then you can basicly just take out what you want from the Bible, and anything that makes u uncomfortable or u dont like you can just leave out...P.S. The Bible is the word of God, and there is no greater authority on earth.

Being anglican I believe the bible is the authority ON the word of god, not that it IS as such. If the bible is total authority, why are there 3 versions of the life of jesus, and an extra philosophical interpretation? Does god need to repeat himself so many times?

I've no problem with your beliefs, the only thing that makes me uncomfortable is that the bible is taken word for word by some people. There are so many different versions, in different translations that we don't know how authoritative the words we read are in the first place, unless you read the KJV. I would throw my bible away any day, because it's not the book that matters (unlike the koran) but what's inside it. The bible is a spiritual guide, not an absolute lawgiver, what ever you've been told.

The fact that there's 3 versions of the life of Jesus, just goes to show the importance of Jesus. The whole new testament revolves around Jesus. Each writer of each book, writes out of a different perspective, revealing different truths about Jesus and His life, and who God is. So it is of great importance to have the different versions. Example: Luke was a doctor, so he had a keen interest in the healings Jesus did, while Mark was just a ordinary man, telling things as he sees them. The fact that there's so many books written by different people, without contradiction, also validates the truth of what is written. So, yes, its necesary to have certain things repeated.

Im not debating different translations, yes some translations are better than others. But when I talk of the Bible, I speak of the original Hebrew texts. In anycase, the translations we have today is still extremely accurate. The Bible is the most scrutinized and critisized book in the world, yet it still stands.

Comparing the Bible to the Koran is a joke. When Mohammed wrote the koran he sat in a cave and got it in a vision, supposedly from "God". its written that mohammed went into fits and foamed at the mouth when he had these visions...and that people from his village thought he was demon posessed(i agree). After he wrote the koran, and claimed it to b from god, he was kicked out of his village for blasphemy.they didnt believe him.

The Bible, on the other hand, has 66books, some written 600BC. All books in the old testament work in perfect unison, pointing toward the coming of Christ. written by different people, proven authenticity thanks to documents like the dead sea scrolls which contains old testament books. The new testament also work in perfect unison, but the theme is now not the coming of Christ, but salvation through Christ.all the prophecies in the old testament is fulfilled in the new testament, again proving that the Bible is not some ordinary book, but that it is the living word of God. Anything else is rubbish and only used to deceive.

He died for you and me.In the end all that we need to do is accept the sacrifice God made for us, and be reconsiled to God. Thats when our true spiritual walk begins. God bless.

Thanks for the blessing, but we weren't arguing about what the books of the bible or koran contain. I think you misunderstood me. You asserted that all the books of the two testaments are precisely the work of god himself. I disagree.

I compared the bible to the koran in the way that muslims think the book itself is sacred, whereas christians think the content alone is sacred.

When you say that the book is the true word of god, and must be obeyed are you talking about the teachings of the old testament or the new testament? I would say it is impossible to lead a life fulfilling the "laws" given by both. The jews were governed by the old (remember strict laws would have prevented anarchy in the desert), christians are governed by the new (principally about love).

I like to keep my faith in context. gb.

Yeah, we are no longer under the law, like the jews of the old testament. But now stand under a new covenant with Christ. which i think is awesome, cause it would have sucked to have to make a blood sacrifice for my sins everyday.:) Jesus didnt come to replace the law, but to fulfil it.We can now have a personel relationship with God...(yeah i think i might have misunderstood - I was never talking about the actual book, was always talking bout whats written) Cheers
